Brio’s banner demonstrates a thoughtful design that stands out with its use of color and button styling. The combination of red used for CTAs in the banner exclusively, and green used generously throughout the site, is a classic pairing that naturally attracts attention.

The unique design of the “Individual Settings” and “Save All and Continue” buttons with two rounded and two square corners, adds a modern and distinctive touch to the interface, deviating from the standard fully rounded or square button design you see everywhere in web design. Plus, these shapes are carried throughout the other parts of the web design, making it clear that the banner was a well considered component.

As for the color, the energizing red of the buttons prompt action and draws the eye, which encourages users to interact with the banner rather than ignore it.

However, the banner is not without its drawbacks. The small and dense block of text that provides information about the cookies is less accessible, potentially making it difficult for users to read and understand what they’re consenting to.

On the individual settings screen Brio indicates they collect a range of cookies, from technical cookies, to those used for marketing. It’s easy to see which cookies are on or off. At the bottom, they’re introducing a third button style. This button has a pale pink to distinguish it from the primary CTA; “Save All and Continue.”

The overall crispness of the banner, with its clean white background and contrasting red buttons, does well to capture user attention.
